Waseca Bar Co-Owned By Alleged Hockey Assoc. Thief Found On Fire This Morning
A Waseca bar owned by an alleged charitable gambling funds thief was found ablaze this morning, just one day after the news of the theft charges was announced.
Forty-seven-year-old Rachelle Schoknect of Mankato was charged in Waseca County Court with felony theft by swindle. Police reports say that Schoknect and her husband, John, own the Nashville Saloon on State Street in Waseca. It was alleged that $6,263.96 was missing from the Waseca Hockey Association. The case against Schoknect began on Sept 7th when a booster club member wasn't able to access the funds for an audit.
This morning Waseca authorities responded to a fire at the Nashville Saloon.
The Waseca Fire Department declined to release any further information but said the blaze at the Nashville Saloon is currently under investigation.
According to the website, Southern Minnesota News, the Waseca fire department arrived on the scene at 4:30 a.m. and pulled their hoses from the scene around 8 a.m.
