With Tuesday's 4-1 playoff loss to the Houston Astros, the Minnesota Twins extended their post season losing streak to 17 games, the record breaking longest in U.S. professional sports history -- breaking a tie at 16 with the 1975-1979 Chicago Blackhawks.

In a year where absolutely nothing has remained the same, we can hang our hats on the fact the Minnesota sports have remained unaffected. 🙄 #MinnesotaTwins #MinnesotaVikings #MinnesotaWild #MinnesotaTimberwolves

The Minnesota Twins will try again today to launch what they hope is a deep playoff run. The Twins are the third seed in the American League as the Central Division Champions. The Astros are the 6th seed.

2020 is the second straight season that the Minnesota Twins have claimed the American League Central Division title. The Twins finished the coronavirus pandemic shortened 60 game season with a 36-24 record.

As the higher seed, the Minnesota Twins will host all of the best-of-three opening round Wild Card series games against the Astros at a fan-less Target Field. Houston now leads the short series one game to none. A Minnesota loss today will end the Twins season.
