Kenyon-Wanamingo had the first lead but the Triton Cobras scored a 6-2 win in Wanamingo today.  It was parents night for the Knights.  The Cobras scored in 4 of the 7 innings.  Kenyon-Wanamingo opened the scoring when junior Ellie Benson opened the second inning with a four pitch walk and went to second base on a wild pitch.  Following a pop out and a strikeout junior Karlie Hodgman stroked a single to right scoring Benson.

Triton answered with two runs in the top of the third inning.  With one out junior Paris Ellingson was walked.  Junior pitcher Chelsea Lasker executed a perfectly placed bunt for a hit.  On the play Ellingson kept running and Lasker rounded first.  After a couple of throws Ellingson scored on an error and Lasker was thrown out at third base for the second out.  Senior Dani Utech was walked.  Senior catcher Haylee Sawyer golfed a low pitch out to left center to score Utech.  It was the eighth pitch delivered by senior Knights pitcher Emma Berquam to Sawyer and all the pitches were strikes.

In the bottom of the third number nine hitter in the Kenyon-Wanamingo lineup junior Kallie Bauer had a single to start the inning.  Junior Sydney Burow smacked a single to center that was misplayed allowing Bauer to score and Burow to take second base.  Following back to back strikeouts there were back to back walks to load the bases but the lefty Lasker was able to record another strikeout to end the inning with no more damage.

In the 4th inning the Cobras had a one out single on a full count by senior Molly McCool followed by a walk to junior Torrie Klennert.   Then a bunt single from number nine batter in the order senior Caitlyn Sowieja was followed by another bunt single by Ellingson to score McCool giving Triton the lead for good.

In the top of the sixth inning the Cobras added another run in part due to an error.  With two outs to start the inning number nine batter Soweija hit a single on a 3-0 count.  There was a walk before Lasker executed a bunt single with Soweija scoring on an error on the play.

In the bottom of the 6th after Lasker had retired 8 straight batters junior Morgan Schaefer and Berquam got back to back singles with one out to bring the go ahead run to the plate.  Hodgman hit a liner to short and the courtesy runner at first for the pitcher was doubled off the back to end the inning.

In the top of the 7th Triton had 8 batters come to the plate.  It all started with back to back singles by Sawyer and sophomore McKenna Freerkson.  Berquam then got back to back strikeouts.  Catcher interference was called to load the bases.  Soweija had a bases loaded walk for an RBI.  Ellingson also got an RBI with a bases loaded walk giving the Cobras the 6-2 lead going into the bottom of the 7th.
