Last week I got a chance to go to the grand opening of the campus expansion at South Central College.  I got my general education credits at South Central, before transferring to the University of Minnesota Morris. I had a blast at Morris, and for Throwback Thursday, thought I would share a picture of my UMM days!

I was only there for two years before I graduated, and I didn't get close to taking every class, going to every event, and joining every student group I would have liked to, but I learned a lot and had some great times at my little school on the prairie. One of the things I was lucky enough to do was have a show on the campus radio station. The station's call letters are KUMM (the UMM being for University of Minnesota Morris) and it was also known as the U90 Alternative. My last year at Morris, me and two friends decided it would be a blast to have our own show. At that time there was a good mix of alternative music, and themed shows, but we decided ours would be dedicated to 80s music. There were a few rules and guidelines we had to stay within,  but for the most part, it was just for fun, and we had a blast with it. We called out show "Electric 80's" and it was live every Friday morning. Every week, we would come walking in with totes of CDs we wanted to play something from, coffee to get us going (I'm sure it was because we were up late studying and not having fun the night before haha), and ready to have a good time. We had fun segments, took requests, and played music we loved. Who would have known that shortly after graduation, I would become part of the KDHL and Power 96 team?

Here is a shot of me (on the right) and a friend goofing off at the KUMM studios, early one Friday morning!
