There is never a dull moment in the country music world. There is always something exciting happening... like an artist releasing new music, concert announcements, country babies being born and of course nominations for awards. There are three major award shows and those are the Country Music Association Awards (CMA'S), the Country Music Television Awards (CMT'S) and the Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM'S).

This year the ACM's have a connection to Minnesota. The Minnesota State Fair was nominated for an ACM for Fair/Radio of the year. Four other State Fairs and Rodeos were nominated. Those are the California Mid-State Fair, Cheyenne Frontier Days, Housten Livestock Show and Rodeo and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

There is some stiff competition in this category, but I do believe that the Minnesota State Fair does have a chance. I've only been to two of the five events that are nominated, so my opinion probably isn't worth much. The Great Minnesota Get Together does do a great job when it comes to concerts. I went last year to Dierks Bently and had a blast. But... Cheyenne Frontier Days are always going to have a special place in my heart. I've only missed three since middle school. They have country artists all but two nights of the rodeo. I'm super excited to see how this one plays out!

We'll find out if the Minnesota State Fair won an ACM on April 5th at 7 pm on CBS. The 55th annual ACM's are happening at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Keith Urban will be hosting. It's going to be a fun night. I can't wait! How about you?
