Taylor Swift Obtains Extended Restraining Order Against Stalker
Taylor Swift can now rest safe and sound after being granted a longterm restraining order against a stalker who believes he is married to the star.
The man, Timothy Sweet, has been ordered to stay away from Swift and her parents for three years, elongating the temporary restraining order that was originally in place at the beginning of March, which requires him to stay 100 yard away from her. TMZ reports the restraining order was extended Tuesday (March 25).
Sweet was actually one of the scarier stalkers that Swift has had, vowing to kill anyone who came between him and his 'wife.' He's been harassing the songstress since 2011, with communication ranging from letters to social media posts -- and they aren't necessarily love letters, either.
“If anyone in Taylor Swift’s family gets killed, it is not my fault," one such note reads. Another says, "Dearest Taylor, I’ll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate.”
Thankfully, the 24-year-old superstar can breathe a little easier knowing Sweet is being monitored and restrained from here on out.
