Minnesota Severe Weather Awareness Week

You've probably heard "When thunder roars, go indoors." but what if you can't hear thunder? "See a flash. dash inside." is used in conjunction with the other slogan for the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Both Rice and Steele Counties and the cities of Faribault and Owatonna are on the Everbridge Emergency Notification System. Citizens of those communities are asked to sign up for notifications.

Wireless emergency alerts on cell phones should not sound for these drills according to Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
