Spencer A. Turner, age 83 of Faribault, MN and formerly of Edina, MN died on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at his home following a brief battle with cancer.

Spencer Alexander, the son of Bert and Laura (MacKillican) Turner was born on June 6, 1940 in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Edina High School and graduated with the class of 1958. Following high school he attended the University of Minnesota. On April 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to Miriam Smith in Edina.  Spencer worked for over 30 years with RBC Dain Bosworth and most recently worked as a Senior Vice President for Kopp Investment Advisors. Spencer and Miriam lived in Edina and raised their family there.  In 2015 they moved to Faribault, MN. Spencer was an avid golfer and enjoyed anytime he could be on the golf course. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, writing poems and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Miriam Turner of Faribault, MN; three children, Lisa Roddy (Bob Stephens) of Walker, MN, Tom Turner (Renee) of Apple Valley, MN and Becky Schmitz and Craig Johnson of Faribault, MN; seven grandchildren, Sarah Kirkwold (Matt) of Crystal, MN, Mary Roddy of Rochester, MN, Spencer Roddy of Sneads Ferry, NC, Alex Schmitz and fiancé Kayla Kramer of Faribault, MN, Annika Schmitz of Faribault, MN, Laura Turner of Apple Valley, MN and Matthew Turner of Apple Valley, MN; great granddaughter, Laiken Schmitz of Faribault, MN; and his trusty companion, Max the dog.  Spencer is also survived by his sister, Martha Kelley of Cameron Park, CA and by extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Laura Turner, grandson, Andrew William Schmitz, brother, James Turner and sister, Cynthia Turner.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Faribault Golf Club, 1700 17th St. NW, Faribault, MN, with a time of sharing at 2:00 p.m.
