The University of Minnesota and Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council will be sponsoring the 9th annual Soybean Symposium on Thursday March 29, 2018. The Soybean Symposium will be held at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. This year's theme is "Soybean Quality and Trade." Attendees are asked to come prepared to discuss the importance of trade for our industry's future. There is no charge to attend but pre-registration is requested because seating is limited. Go to the web site: http://z.umn.edu/soybeansymposium.

Some of the topics include: Export Opportunities for Specialty Soybeans, High Oleic and Next Generation Traits, Global Soybean Supply/Demand, The FM Issue, Declining Protein, Quality Beyond Protein: The EAA Message, "Nutritional Bundle" vs Component Pricing, and Discovering/Breeding-Specialty and Next Gen Soybeans. The last couple years I have not been able to attend the Soybean Symposium because it was scheduled at the same time as the North American Farm and Power Show. This year it is a week later so I am looking forward to attending the Symposium.
