South Central College Foundation Executive Director Shelly Rockman will stop by the KDHL Studio today to give us details about the 2016-17 Fund Drive: "Give Today for Tomorrow:Support Student Scholarships."

I believe Fund Drive Chairman Jason Demars might be joining us as well. Demars taught at South Central from 1995 to 2010. He is a Faribault High School graduate and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years learning Aviation Support Equipment Mechanics and Gas Turbine Engine Mechanics before transferring to the Marine Corps' first Bar Coding System Department, where he coded and inventoried the fleet's aviation equipment.

Upon returning home, Demars used the Montgomery GI Bill to attend South Central College's Machine Tool Technology program. His dad attended school there and his mom taught there for many years. Demars graduated from the program in 1994 and went to work at Owatonna Tool Co. Then he returned to South Central to teach and continued attending classes at other schools.

He received his bachelor's degree in Technical Teacher Education and a master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology from Mankato State University.

Demars is Fabrication Manager at Cybex International in Owatonna and serves on the Computer Integrated Machining Advisory Committee at South Central College.

AM Minnesota begins at 9:30AM. If you can't tune in then, go to www.youtube.com/user/KDHLRadio and watch the program at a more convenient time for you.
