This holiday season in addition to some community monetary donations the Faribault Police Department was the recipient of a couple of cool gifts.

Faribault Police wanted to publicly acknowledge six year old Owen Dalluge for stopping by the station to deliver some cookies and a card he made for the officers.

Chief Andy Bohlen gave Dalluge a Cannon (Police dog) stuffed figure.

This week, Jason and Al Shuda dropped off a box of assorted popcorn from the Scouts' Hometown Heroes program.  The Faribault Scout leaders brought popcorn from Cub Scout Pack 310 and BSA Scout Troop 306.

In addition Matt Truman stopped by on behalf of Rice County Toys for Tots to deliver some items for the Rybolt family after they were displaced from their home when a vehicle smacked into the side of the house.

The vehicle driver was allegedly attempting to get away from authorities on December 11th when it crashed into the home.

Bohlen also thanks John Donkers for donating a spin bike for the police station workout room.

At the Faribault City Council meeting Tuesday Bohlen acknowledged monetary gifts from Carolyn Huston partnering with the State Bank of Faribault and Barta Machine LLC.

Huston and State Bank combined for a $1,500 gift through the Support Faribault Police signs throughout the community and Barta Machine, LLC donated $15,000.

Bohlen says these donations are always appreciated and will  be used to help officers with processing mentally some of the traumatic things they witness and PPE.

Bohlen says, "We are very grateful to all of the support we receive from community members."
