See the Rare Comet ‘NEOWISE’ in the Minnesota Skies

It's something that won't be seen for over 6,000 years -- if it's ever seen by human eyes again. And that would be the comet NEOWISE.

You can see this cosmic rarity in Minnesota over the next few days.

Comet NEOWISE will likely look like a fuzzy star with a bit of a tail, so using binoculars or a small telescope is recommended to get the best views of this object. - via nasa.com

I love looking into the night sky and thinking about the vastness of space. But it can overwhelm the brain trying to imagine that actual vast amount of space. There comes that moment when you realize just how small we are in the grand scheme of it all.

I've found that putting myself in that mindset actually makes me feel better. With all the chaos that we sometimes feel being on this planet, can all be whisked away just by looking up. There is a sense of calmness looking at the stars.

• Find a spot away from city lights with an unobstructed view of the sky
• Just after sunset, look below the Big Dipper in the northwest sky
• If you have them, bring binoculars or a small telescope to get the best views of this dazzling display
