If you think are cars will be picking us up and driving us places in the next few years, watch this video and you'll realize that we have a long way to go.

A car hitting a parked plane at an airport might not normally make the international news, but when one of the most high-tech cars in the world collides with one of the most cutting-edge personal jets in the world, it was bound to go viral. Oh, I forgot to mention that there's a video of the incident, and the car was driving itself.

The incident happened at Felts Field in Spokane during a Cirrus event, the owner of the Tesla used the car maker's "autonomous summon mode" or "Smart Summon" to have their Tesla Model Y car drive itself to them, the problem is, the car didn't see the plane and drove right into the tail section of the plane.

The plane is a Cirrus-made Vision Jet, which carries a price tag of over $3 million. Something tells me that while they may have seen a thing or two, Farmer's Insurance has never seen something like this, I'd hate to see the premium increase after this accident.

Egos and pocket pockets might have been injured in this incident, but thankfully that's it, no injuries were reported.

Tesla says, "Smart Summon is designed to allow you to move Model Y to your location (using your phone's GPS as a target destination) or to a location of your choice, maneuvering around and stopping for objects as necessary." Yeah, about that last part, Tesla might want to work on that a little more.
