SE Minnesota Roads Are Snow Covered And Slow
Roads across SE Minnesota are snow-covered and slow-moving. Multiple spinouts were being reported early this morning as area plow drivers were working hard to keep the major arteries of I-90 and I-35 open.
Winds will play a factor as Winter Storm Dorothy exits our area later today. Winds in the Waseca area were averaging 25 mph this morning causing snow to blowback over the roadways after plows came through causing a messy commute.
As of 9:45pm last night the State Patrol had reported that statewide there were 81 crashes (7 with injury, 0 serious/fatal) & 46 vehicle spin out/off the road & 3 jackknifed semis. Those numbers are expected to climb as overnight numbers come in and the morning commute ends.
A good reminder that it's Minnesota State Law to have your headlights on when it is precipitating out.
