The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights Tuesday night defeated the Triton Cobras 3-1 in Hiawatha Valley League baseball.  The Cobras came into the contest with a 2-1 record while the Knights were looking for their first win of the young season.  Kenyon-Wanamingo is 1-2 following the victory.

Kenyon-Wanamingo Head Coach Kirby VanDeWalker told KDHL senior Tyler Ryan threw a complete game with 13 strikeouts and no walks.  The Cobras connected for 7 hits.  The run allowed was earned.  Ryan also had 2 hits, 2 RBI and a stolen base.  Classmate Colin Sviggum had 2 hits, sophomores Luke Berg,Owen Hilke added hits and Tyler Craig collected a hit by pitch RBI.

Ryan threw 103 pitches, 65 were strikes, 62 percent first pitch strikes.

Triton sophomore Mason Barker also went the distance on the hill allowing 6 hits, all 3 runs were earned, 5 strikeouts, 4 walks.

The Cobras were led at the plate by juniors Derek Lilledahl with two hits including a double and RBI and Austin Melder with a pair of hits.

Kenyon-Wanamingo's next game is scheduled for Monday in Goodhue and is supposed to be broadcast on KDHL 920AM, KDHL app.  Coverage will start at 4:45 p.m.

Triton is scheduled to travel to Rochester Lourdes Friday at 5:00 p.m.
