Rice County Man’s Alleged Thefts Tally Over Six Figures
Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn called a news conference Thursday to reveal more details about a case involving a rural Rice County man alleged to steal nearly a quarter of a million dollars worth of machinery, vehicles and trailers. Sheriff Dunn noted 39 year old Paul Seeman of rural Rice County has been charged with 26 felony counts. He listed a number of the items and said the total tally was $222,450. The most expensive item is a 1965 International Harvester tractor valued at approximately 60 thousand dollars. Sheriff Dunn says Seeman's first court date has been set for July 8 and told reporters the case first came to light when citizens reported possible criminal activity was occurring on Seeman's properties. A search warrant was obtained and that's when they found the items and verified they were stolen.
