There are several events throughout the weekend including City-Wide Garage Sales with 21 locations to shop till you drop which gets started on Friday. It is also the 10th anniversary of the start of Preston's 9-Hole Fishing Course!

In 2012, the Minnesota Trout Association laid out a self-guided, 9-hole trout fishing course to introduce trout anglers to a 0.8 mile reach of blue ribbon trout water in the South Branch Root River. Nine distinct holes ranging from 40 yards to 120 yards are marked beginning at hole 9 – The Big Bend Rapids, just below the trailhead, upstream to hole 1 – The St. Paul Street Bridge (known beyond the city limits as Fillmore County Road 17).

Each hole features different flow characteristics that will challenge anglers and help develop your angling skills whether you fish from shore with live bait or wade in the stream with spinners or flies. All three species, brook, brown, and rainbow trout, inhabiting streams of the Driftless region, have been taken within the boundaries of the 9-hole course.

You can check out the map of the 9-hole Fishing Course here.

The Preston EMS Takeout Steak Dinner Fundraiser starts Friday at 5 p.m at the EMS building and you can get advance tickets at City Hall for $20 or at the door for $25.

Saturday features the Kid's Fishing Contest. It's at Camp Creek outside of Preston in Maust’s Pasture – Look for the signs – You must be with an adult and must bring your own equipment and bait. This is for ages 12 and under! Lunch is included and you can register for prizes.

Preston Pop Up Market, which features 30 different vendors is also Saturday along with the Show and Shine Car Show, the Grand Parade at 4 pm and so much more!

Preston is going to be the place to be this weekend. Check out the full schedule of events below:
