US Bank Stadium is hosting the Prep Bowl November 25-26 for the first time. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority gave the Minnesota State High School League eight free days of rent for the soccer tournament and for the football semifinals and finals.

Players and coaches who have participated in the state tournament from 1972 through last year are invited to attend the Class 6A championship game, which starts at 7PM on November 25. Each person will receive a commemorative Prep Bowl tag and be seated together. Prep Bowl record holders and championship winning coaches will be honored at halftime.

Four former Minnesota high school football players are honorary chairmen of the event -- Darrell Thompson, Marcus Sherels, Matt Birk and Isaac Fruechte. Fruechte is a Vikings  wide receiver who played for two Class 2A championship teams at Caledonia.
