Owatonna Football Season Will Start with Playoff Rematch

The stakes won't be nearly as high, but there will still be the anticipation of a great rivalry when the Owatonna High School football team opens its season hosting Rochester Mayo on Friday, September 2. The Spartans edged the Huskies 38-33 [Instant Classic] for the Section 1-5A title in 2021.

The game this coming September will mark the final home opener at the current high school for Owatonna, which is scheduled to open the new campus in the fall of 2023. The Huskies' 2022 schedule was recently posted to the Big Nine Conference website.
