On Monday evening the Shakopee Police Department responded to a report of a shooting. After arriving at the location officers found a 65-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds. The man was a resident of the home where the shooting happened.

"On June 8, 2020, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Shakopee Police Department responded to a report of a shooting incident in the 2400 block of Paha Circle.

Shakopee officers found a 65-year-old male inside the home with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His identity will be released by the Hennepin County medical examiner’s office."

Also found at the scene of the shooting was a 23-year-old male, Brady Daniel Zipoy. According to the press release, Zipoy has been arrested and is expected to be charged with second-degree murder. Zipoy is currently being held in the Scott County Jail pending formal charges.

The press release from the Shakopee Police Department goes on to state that police do "not believe Zipoy and the victim knew each other."

This is still an active investigation and investigators from the Shakopee Police Department are still working on the case.
