I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that major winter storm the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted for March didn't exactly happen. The bad news is that we aren't exactly out of the woods when it comes to winter weather.

I took a look at the Old Farmer's Almanac and their predictions for April and much of the month calls for snow, although no word of a giant storm is mentioned. Here's how they broke things down for our region:

From the first of the month through the sixth: snow will kick things off. Sunshine will return but it will be cold.

From April 7th through the 10th, we will see periods of rain and mild conditions.

From the 11th of April to the 14th, snow will return. Similar to the start of the month, we will see sunshine and cooler temperatures.

Rain returns from April 15th through the 24th with cooler temperatures.

From April 25th through the end of the month, we can expect rain showers before temperatures warm up.

We will see our average temperature for the month drop a few degrees below average while precipitation falls a few inches above normal.

The Old Farmer's Almanac makes long-term weather predictions by region. Some believe in their methodology and some don't. Either way, it is always fun to look at what they say will happen and then circle back and see if it came true.

In this case, I hope their predictions aren't entirely true as we are all cooped up in our homes for the most part with COVID-19 and the outdoors is one of the only ways to stay sane and get out.
