Northern Minnesota Still Dealing With Snow As Southern Minnesota Braces For Temps In The 80s

If you've ever really wondered just how BIG Minnesota is, which it's pretty big, the Northern third of the state is still dealing with snow, area ski hills are still offering some skiing opportunities, and the Southern third of the state is bracing for temperatures next week to come close to the mid-80s.

On top of the winter weather, still lingering in Northern Minnesota, there are road condition issues that also need to be addressed before those travel-weary Minnesotans can access areas once the snow does melt.

The Superior National Forest posted these pictures on Wednesday, indicated that camping wouldn't be available until May 12, likely, due to the lingering snow.

Meanwhile, snow isn't an issue here in Southern Minnesota where the extended forecast is calling for rain Sunday and then temps in the 80s, and the possibility of severe weather with those warmer temps.

The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities posted about the change in weather, and what to expect, which will feel like July weather with the heat and humidity that is expected. Some records could be broken in the process.

It will become warm and humid next week with several chances of thunderstorms. Some storms may be severe, particularly on Monday when a risk area covers eastern MN and western WI. High temperatures will warm into the 70s and 80s with lows in the 50s and 60s. Record temperatures are possible Wednesday.

The good news, for those who like warmer weather, is that it appears spring has arrived, or maybe we are just skipping right to summer after a cold and wet April.
