Northern Minnesota Man Sent To Prison For Killing Young Niece

Walker, MN (KROC AM News) - A northern Minnesota man has been sentenced to prison for running over and killing his young niece with his car while intoxicated earlier this year.
Sentenced to 9 years Tuesday was 28-year-old Anthony Goose of Bemidji.
He was charged in May with criminal vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a deadly accident. He pleaded guilty in July.
The deadly incident occurred at his sister’s home near Walker.
Witnesses told police Goose struck the 1 ½-year-old child with his car and ran over her as he was backing out of the driveway. A security camera also recorded the deadly incident. It showed Goose speeding away while the child's father ran out of the house in response to her screaming. Goose was located and arrested. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was .12.
At the time of the deadly incident, Goose’s driver's license was revoked because of an earlier DUI case.
