Faribault Area Wrestlers Place at State

State champions were crowned from Kenyon-Wanamingo, Cannon Falls, and Goodhue in the individual portion of the MSHSL Wrestling Tournament at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul Saturday.

Jack Carlson, senior from Goodhue participated in the Prep Bowl with the Wildcats in November and won a state wrestling title at 285 in Class A.  He had a pair of tech falls prior to a pin and won the final with a 7-2 decision over George Doherty, senior, LeSueur-Henderson.  Carlson finished his season with a 41-3 record.

Liam Sommer, sophomore, Kenyon-Wanamingo is state champion at 114 pounds in Class A finishing his season 51-1.  Goodhue sophomore Arlyn Von Knobelsdorf placed 5th in the same weight class.

Ryan Lacanne, senior, Kenyon-Wanamingo finished second at 121 pounds falling to Jackson Priebe, sophomore, Chatfield in the title match.  Priebe finished 44-5 and Lacanne is 42-10 for the season.  Miller Barclay, senior from St. Charles placed 5th.

Hayden Holm, senior, Goodhue captured 4th place at 152 pounds to finish the season 43-14.

Owen Parrish, freshman, Cannon Falls is State Champion at 114 pounds in Class AA an was 49-1 this year.

Parker Richards, junior, Kasson-Mantorville is State Champion at 189 pounds in Class AA.  Owen Lexvold, sophomore, Zumbrota-Mazeppa, 5th, 37-12

Matthew Veroeven, senior, Waseca is state champ at 285 in Class AA with a 43-1 record.

Chatfield had multiple state title holders in Class A.  127 pounds Logan Pearson, sophomore is Champ.  Bryan Jacobson, senior, Kenyon-Wanamingo placed 3rd/  Christian Zibrowski of Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson was 5th.

Kaisen Johnson, senior, Chatfield was 3rd at 133, Hunter Polikowsky, sophomore, 6th at 145.  Joey Cady, freshman, 107 was 3rd.

Ryan Skluzacek, junior, Tri-City United,  189 pounds was 4th in Class A.  145 pounds, Tucker Skluzacek, junior, TCU, 5th, 46-10

Cooper Allen, sophomore, Caledonia-Houston second at 215 in Class A.

In the biggest schools class AAA, Dave Parrow, senior, Champion at 152 pounds for Farmington, season record 52-1.

Shakopee achieved state titles at 160 and 172 pounds.  Jackson Barron, senior and Kyler Walters, senior, records of 42-2 and 38-2 respectively.

Caden Staab, junior, Northfield, 3rd at 160, 41-4.  Calcin Miller. senior, Shakopee, 6th at 145.

Riley Clark, senior, Apple Valley, 3rd at 172.

Caleb Loomis, junior, Rochester Mayo, 6th at 285.

A number of girls from the area placed at state.
