More Snow Than Love in the Air, Minnesota Among Least Romantic States

I thought that cold weather made us more cuddly and romantic. No? Maybe it's out stoic German and Scandinavian roots to blame. What ever happened to, "Cold hands, warm heart?"

Or, maybe it's our need to dress in layers for half the year -- including flannel pajamas and nightgowns, socks, hats, and more to bed. 😂

With Valentine's Day less than two weeks away, the number crunchers at Bookies.com took a deep dive into which states are the most and least romantic in America, and it turns out that here in Minnesota there's more snow than love in the air (and we haven't had much snow this winter).

The slogan says Virginia is for Lovers, but in 2025 West Virginia nabbed the top spot.

Usually Minnesota and it's neighbors fair very well in 'best of' lists. I don't think people in other parts of the country get it. in Minnesota, romance means starting your spouse's car and scraping their windshield. That's love baby!
