Buffalo, MN (KROC-AM News) - Minnesota has a new millionaire, but it wasn’t a result of this week’s closely watched Powerball and Mega Millions drawings.

Stephen Braun showed up at the state lottery headquarters today to collect the $1,869,493 jackpot from yesterday evening’s Gopher 5 drawing. The man from Buffalo purchased the winning ticket at a convenience store in the small suburban community northwest of Minneapolis and took home the third largest prize in the history of the Gopher 5 game.

There was one ticket worth $50,000 from the Powerball drawing sold in Minnesota. Officials say it was purchased by someone in Hastings. There were also 7 tickets worth $10,000 each sold in the state for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing that sent the $1.6 billion dollar jackpot to a single winner in South Carolina.

The jackpot from Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is expected to grow to $750 million for Saturday’s drawing.
