Sure, it's fun to dream about winning that huge Mega Millions jackpot but here are seven other things here in Minnesota with way better odds!

The Mega Millions jackpot has been growing since mid-April and is now sitting at $810 million for Tuesday (July 26) night's drawing. Mega Millions says that's the fourth-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. If you were the lone winner and took the cash payout, you'd get 470 million, though Uncle Sam would take about 174 million.

The odds of winning that big payout are 1 in 302 million. So, yeah, your chances of winning are pretty slim. In fact, you have a much better chance of doing the following things here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, according to PlayUSA.

Minnesota has been home to several big-time movie and TV stars, from Josh Hartnett and Chris Pratt, to Steve Zahn and Peter Krause and more. And while your odds of becoming famous on either the big or small screen are still kind of remote-- at 1 in 1.5 million-- it's still way more likely than winning the lottery.

Winning an Olympic gold medal

Minnesota has had its share of Olympians who've taken gold during several recent games, but it's still pretty rare. In fact, USA Today says your odds are 1 in 662,200 to win the gold (which is still much more likely than winning the Mega Millions, though!)

While several famous celebrities have been spotted on the streets of Minnesota's Med City over the years (no doubt here because of Mayo Clinic), your odds of running into someone like Gigi Hadid, and securing a date are still pretty much a longshot, with odds of 1 in 88,000.

Being killed by a venomous plant or animal

Minnesota is known for being home to several poisonous plants, as well as many different species of animal that could do some serious damage to you. But while your odds of meeting your fate at the hands (or paws) of one of them is still pretty slim, at 1 in 44,459, it's still way more likely than winning the lottery jackpot.

The Internal Revenue Service has offices across the North Star State, including here in Rochester. And the IRS says that, when it comes to being the subject of the always-dreaded audit, your odds are eerily good: 1 in 160!
