Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council Elections
On March 20, 2019 the Minnesota Department of Agriculture will be mailing election ballets to all farmers who have voted in the Council elections in the past or who have requested a ballet. Soybean Producers have until April 5, 2019 to return the ballets. No ballets will be accepted by the Minnesota Department Agriculture that have been postmarked after April 5, 2019.
Remember soybean farmers elected to the Minnesota Research and Promotion Council have a lot of responsibility. They determine how soybean check-off funds will be spent or allocated. Federal Law requires that check-off funds can only be spent on research, education or promotion. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the USDA oversee the check-off program to make sure check-off funds are properly spent.
