Minnesota Has 36 UFO Sightings So Far in 2024, Here’s Where

Minnesota, the Land of 10,000 Lakes, a good amount of sasquatch spotting, and 36 UFO sightings reported so far in 2024.

The definition of a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) is a mysterious object seen in the sky for which, it is claimed, no orthodox scientific explanation can be found. That's according to the Oxford English Dictionary.

The U.S. Department of Defense is no longer calling these things UFOs, instead referring to the flying mysteries as UAPs, or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (including objects in air, sea, and space). I'm sticking with UFO for now.

The NUFORC (wow, so many acronyms); or National Unidentified Flying Object Reporting Center lists 36 reported sightings in Minnesota so far in 2024. No only is there a complete list of sightings, but there a spot where you can report your own UFO (or UAP) sightings here.

2024 Minnesota UFO Reports (Date/Location/Description)

• 10/9 - North Mankato: Two blinking orange orbs
• 9/28 - Lake St. Croix Beach: Cigar shape stationary to super fast to disappear
• 9/24 - Bemidji: Bright white light moving W to E
• 9/20 - Barnum: Orb split into two making pulsating triangular form. Could feel sensation in my eyes
• 9/14 - Kenyon: Flare colored orb
• 9/12 - Chisago City: Bright object drifting northeast from our home
• 9/12 - Mankato: Strange object was one object then split into 2
• 9/12 - Mankato: It started as 1 white light with a haze around it then it started to pulse it got a little bigger a beam of light came straight down
• 9/11 - Arden Hills: Formation of black rectangles low and fast across highway. No visible wings or tail fins
• 9/5 - Burnsville: Chevron shape, altitude 5-6K feet, silent, no lights, very fast
• 8/30 - Pine City: Saw a very bright light shimmering all different colors
• 8/24 - Carpenter: Consistent with report # Sighting 182766 . we are located north -east of that report

• 8/24 - Bemidji: Series of bright lights traveling from NW to NE in the sky
• 8/3 - Norwood Young America: Circle of round white solid lights with what appears to be at least 2 other lights not in circles formation that blink in and out
• 8/3 - Norwood Young America: Round craft made of round rights
• 8/2 - Woodbury: I was outside standing by the bonfire when I noticed white orbs hovering together
• 7/24 - Bemidji: Very bright light in sky moving erratically in south to southeast
• 7/20 - Moorhead: It looked like a black Plastic bag
• 7/17 - Rochester: An orb appeared in the middle of the sky, slowly traversed East SE performed a big S shape maneuver and then vanished
• 7/17 - Granite Falls: Cylinder shape like a tic tac
• 7/16 - Rochester: Orb captured in the vicinity of fixed wing aircraft with proof that the fixed wing was the only object transponding
• 7/15 - Rochester: Saw an orb appear out of thin air and slowly travel across the sky over 5 minutes
• 7/13 - Minneapolis: Unknown craft changing shape as it flies in low altitude
• 7/12 - Rochester: I saw a quite bright light out the window moving, went outside to record it on video. Not on flight radar

• 7/6 - Lindstrom: Looking into sky for satellites and shooting stars, saw an orb
• 6/20 - Garrison: Footage from a security camera 1 min prior and one minute following the actual footage, the UFO appeared suddenly
• 6/12 - Corcoran: Floating orb
• 5/7 - St. Cloud: Light traveling fast and then vanished, followed by another aircraft
• 3/13 - Plymouth: I witnessed a ufo go above my head glowing bright green with a yellow center
• 3/9 - Minneapolis: Metallic silver rectangle that was highly reflective
• 3/8 - St. Paul: Looked east clear sky noticed an orb
• 3/4 - Canby: Strange cube-shaped object observed while inflight
• 2/21 - Stillwater: North east sky, looked like sun shining off aircraft, i checked my radar app no aircraft in area, i look back up and its gone
• 2/11 - St. Paul: Woke up to a bright white light outside balcony window with a blue tint or like veil in the room
• 2/1 - Albert Lea: White light in the sky, no sound, and no wingtip/tail lights
• 1/17 - Pine City: Three large orange lights . When I caught them on video they were already 10 times smaller then they were when I first saw them

The sightings above were were reported to NUFORC, but I'm guessing these are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what people have seen this year in Minnesota.
