Nearly one in three Americans are being ordered to stay home as several states have already taken the drastic measure to shut down every thing that is considered non-essential in order to slow the spread of COVID-19. Everyone I know is talking about the possibility of it happening here and assuming it will any day now. In fact, most of my friends are getting anxious and wish it would just happen already.

On Friday, Governor Walz said, “I certainly think it is a possibility.”

If Minnesota does indeed decide to order people to shelter in place you will still be able to go to the grocery store, you will still be able to go to the pharmacy or the doctors office, you will still be able to go on walk or a bike ride. USA Today explains which businesses will remain open, "Federal guidelines give state and local authorities leeway in what they consider "essential" businesses during an emergency. But in general, those industries include grocery stores and food production, pharmacies, health care, utilities, shipping, banking, other governmental services, law enforcement, emergency personnel and journalists."

The Governor and the Minnesota Department of Public Health have a 2:00 PM press conference scheduled for Monday to update the media on their response to COVID-19. To be clear, it is not known what will be discussed during this press conference.
