When you make it to 106 years old, you've seen a lot. Radio, television, cell phones, internet, computers, all weren't common everyday items in 1913. Both WWI and WWII hadn't happened yet, but Elrose Milverstedt who lives at Ecumen CountrySide in Owatonna has lived through it all. On Friday, May 24, Rose as she is known turned 106 and Twin Cities TV Station WCCO asked her about her allegiance to the Minnesota Twins. Check it out!

It sounds like Rose needs a trip up to Target Field to see the suddenly surging, and one of the best in Major League Baseball Minnesota Twins soon!

According to the Ecumen website, Rose was born in Albany, MN and owned and operated a cafe in Claremont for a living. She told 'CCO that she attributes her long life to “no drinking" and "no smoking.”

Here is a list of some items or events that Rose was alive for in her 106 years in no specific order.

  • Nuclear Power
  • Personal Computer
  • Both Twins World Series Championships
  • Airplanes
  • Man landing on the moon
  • Antibiotics
  • Escalator
  • Helicopter
  • Robot
  • Radio Telescope
  • Radar
  • Jet Engine
  • Electron Microscope
  • Atomic bomb
  • Laser
  • Space shuttle
  • Compact Discs
  • The Great Depression
  • The Beatles forming and breaking up

That's just a few of the things that have happened in her 106 years on this planet. Maybe the Twins will give her a 3rd World Championship this year...
