Medford School Launches Food Drive

With a donut party on the line for the winning grade, Medford school is holding a food drive through Halloween to benefit the Steele County food shelf (Community Pathways). The week wraps up with a drive-in movie night at the school Saturday, October 31.

The movie shown will be Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, a PG-13 flick. Saturday night's event is open to grades 7 through 12 and starts at 7 pm. Entry is a canned good donation, but officials urge students to bring multiple items to donate.

Distance learners can participate by dropping off cans at the high school entryway.

In other news from the Medford School District, the Elementary Newsletter states, "We are thankful we have been able to have students in the building for face to face learning the past 7 weeks. And, at the same time, it has been rewarding to provide distance learning to families who have chosen that option."

Anyone wishing to switch their learning model for the second quarter should contact the school.

"As we enter the cold and flu season, on top of the COVID factor, let's all be sure to do our part to support Medford Public School's safety goals that have been put in place. Students and staff should stay home if they are showing any symptoms for and foremost."

The newsletter also announces that fall parent-teacher conferences will be held in a virtual format November 17 and 19 from 4 to 7:30 pm, "Your child's teacher will be contacting you to set up a time if they haven't already."
