Lee Ann Womack Celebrates ‘The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone’ Album Release With New Single, Tour
Lee Ann Womack is ready to make her ATO Records debut with the release of The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone this fall. The singer-songwriter has shared the details of her new project, including its first single, and will launch a tour in support of the record.
The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone, set for release on Oct. 27, will combine country, soul, gospel and blues -- all genres that tie into Womack's East Texas roots. The albums stands to be Womack's most personal and open work yet: She co-wrote the majority of the songs, and her husband, Frank Liddell, is serving as the disc's producer.
"I wanted to get out of Nashville and tap the deep music and vibe of East Texas," says Womack in a press release. "I wanted to make sure this record had a lot of soul in it, because real country music has soul. I wanted to remind people of that."
In total, The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone will have 14 tracks, the majority of which were recorded in the iconic SugarHill Studios in Houston, Texas. Formerly Gold Star Studios, SugarHill Studios is the same location at which George Jones recorded "Take the Devil Out of Me;" as a tribute, Womack covered that song for her album.
The first single from The Lonely, the Lonesome & the Gone is "All the Trouble," which readers can here below. Other tracks include "He Called Me Baby," "Bottom of the Barrel" and "Mama Lost Her Smile;" a full track listing can be seen below.
This summer, Womack was on the road with Patty Griffin for their An Acoustic Evening With Patty Griffin & Lee Ann Womack shows. The singer has more tour dates on her calendar that run now through February; more information can be found on her official website.
