I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July this year. The weather turned out better than expected and hopefully everyone was able to take part in their planned outdoor activities and gatherings with family and friends. This year my wife and I ventured over to Waseca to spend the afternoon and evening with my oldest son, his wife and my grandsons.

We started the afternoon off at Clear Lake Park and Waseca's Lakefest Celebration. This annual event starts off with the Freedom Fun Run/Walk in the morning, followed by food and live entertainment in the afternoon. We caught a couple of the musical acts, ate some delicious kettle corn, played in the lake and on the playground equipment  and then went home to eat supper. After a delicious meal and a variety of other treats we decided to take a walk along the shores of Loon Lake to play with my grandsons at Loon Lake Park. After a brief downpour we went outside and put on a short fireworks show and then packed our folding chairs and mosquito repellent along with the kids into our vehicles and went back to Clear Lake Park to wrap up our evening with an awesome fireworks spectacular. They shoot the fireworks over the lake, so we found a nice spot on the beach where we set up our chairs for a great view of the show.

We really enjoyed the fireworks display along with everybody in the park and all the people that were in the boats anchored out on the lake for an up close view of the aerial display. The fireworks started around 10PM and lasted about 20 minutes and capped off a perfect Fourth of July for my family.
