The Kenyon-Wanamingo Knights breezed to a 10-0 six-inning win over the Medford Tigers in Wanamingo on Tuesday night.

The Knights got a stellar pitching performance from senior Gavin Roosen and took advantage of four third-inning Tiger errors to score seven runs in that inning.

In the bottom of the first, Kenyon-Wanamingo took a 1-0 lead after the first batter, senior Dylan Craig, was walked and stole second on a pop out, and a ground out had him standing at third base with two outs.

Senior Matt Houglum on a 1-2 count smacked a single to left for the RBI.

Medford's only hit and only base runner came in the second inning when designated hitter Ben Borash had a single to left center. Following a fly out and strike out with a 1-2 count to No. 7 Medford hitter John O'Daffer, Borash tried to steal second and was thrown out by Craig.

Roosen finished the game with eight strikeouts and did not walk a single batter while throwing his one-hitter. He faced just one batter over the minimum while throwing 67 pitches, 47 for strikes. Roosen threw eight first-pitch strikes to the 19 batters he faced.

Craig got the third inning started at the plate reaching safety thanks to an error, and senior Carter Leninger was walked and stole second.

Houglum recorded the second out and then the onslaught began with senior Calvin Steberg collecting an infield single. Craig scored on a wild pitch. Sophomore Tyler Ryan hit a grounder resulting in an error and Leninger scored. Ryan would score on a wild pitch Junior Jack Beulke coaxed a walk.

Sophomore Micah Johnson clubbed a single, followed by senior Payton Hilke reaching base on another Medford error. Craig then hammered a 2-RBI single and went to second on a throw home.

Kenyon-Wanamingo added a run in the fifth on an RBI double by Roosen and got the 10th and winning run in the sixth inning when Houglum was hit by a pitch to start the inning and scored on an RBI single by Ryan.

Our Sviggum Insurance Agency of Wanamingo Knights of the game were Craig, Houglum, Ryan and Johnson.

Our Held Bus Service of Kenyon play of the game was actually shared by a nice running catch in left field by Leninger and Craig's throw out of the only base runner Medford had in the game.

My scorebook line totals were:

Kenyon-Wanamingo: 10 runs, 8 hits, 0 errors, 7 runners, 4 left in scoring position

Medford: 0 runs, 1 hit, 4 errors, 0 runners left
