KDHL Medallion Finder Comes Forward
For only the second time in the history of the KDHL Medallion Hunt which spans about 40 years a fifth clue was used when nobody claimed the prizes.
This afternoon, Loren Tatge, Junior brought the medallion provided by Chappuis Jewelers in Faribault and stamped by Star Trophy and Apparel of Faribault to KDHL.
Tatge was wearing a 2025 Heritage Days button and received the prize package valued at over $500.
He told KDHL he was not actively hunting for the prize.
After discovering the Medallion by accident, Tatge did examine the clues on the KDHL website and saw his employer Bethlehem Academy mentioned,
Because he was wearing a 2025 Faribault Heritage Days button Tatge received $200 cash and Minnesota Twins baseball tickets bringing the total value over $500.
The KDHL Medallion was placed near a bean bag toss board inside the horseshoe pits at South Alexander Park. It was inside a sandwich bag not buried in the sand.
This is not the first time someone not actively hunting for the treasure has come upon the discovery.
That has been a rarity however.
The final three clues helped many get to the location. Tatge was there Thursday evening playing horseshoes with a friend.
Here are those final three clues:
