Everybody knows things are costing more these days. Making the most of the money you make is a goal of nearly every American. If you’ve ever been in a tight spot where you feel you can’t afford some of the things you need let alone the things you want, it’s not fun.

Between deals on mobile apps and loyalty shopping clubs, retail and grocery stores really are trying to give their customer base incentives to shop there.

The club with Goodwill is easy to join, you capture their QR code on posters around the store. Then they’ll send you a text message to complete your enrollment.

For the initial signup, you’ll get a text message that will allow you to take a certain percentage off. My wife and I both are VIP members, and when we each signed up, we got 25% off our total purchase if we made the purchase within the first seven days of signing up.

Goodwill doesn’t bombard you with lots of texts, you’ll get two to three per month. Mostly the message pertains to a sales event they’re having in the not-so-distant future.

This Monday was a 40% off event for VIP members for sales tags that were blue, pink, green and yellow when you spent $40. From the traffic we saw at the St. Cloud location, there’s a lot of VIP members already signed up.
