Final Arrangements Announced for Rockford Police K-9 Nyx

An opportunity for the public to show respect for fallen Rockford Police K-9 officer Nyx is planned for next Saturday, February 17, 2024

Public Visitation for Fallen K-9 at CityFirst in Rockford

According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, a public visitation will be held at CityFirst Church, 5950 Spring Creek Road from 12 noon to 3 pm.

The walk-through by law enforcement is planned for 3 pm and the police memorial service begins at 4 pm. Law enforcement members and the community are welcome to attend, according to the press release.

Roads around CityFirst at the intersection of Spring Creek Road and North Mulford will be extremely congested during the public visitation and police memorial service for Nyx, so find alternate routes if possible or expect delays.

Local law enforcement will be handling traffic control in the area before, during, and after the Nyx memorial service.

Officer K-9 Nyx was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
