Illinois Live-Fire Eatery Named One Of Best In US
A Peoria, Illinois bakery and full-service restaurant was recently chosen by USA Today as one of the best restaurants that you MUST TRY in 2024.

That's a big task, to find the best restaurants of the year. USA Today just released their list of the 47 eateries you need to visit in 2024. I have the appetite to get to all 47, just not enough frequent flier miles to get to them all.
Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Alabama, California, and many more. The list of nearly 50 restaurants includes only one from Illinois
For now, I'll be putting a bakery and fine dining spot in Peoria on my list. I've only been to the area once before but will be back this summer for another one of my son's baseball tournaments. Peoria already has a world-class baseball facility for youth sports, so adding another restaurant to our list when we're there makes it even better.

Ardor Breads and Provisions in Peoria, Illinois was just named one of the restaurants YOU MUST TRY in 2024, by USA TODAY.
Ardor started as a small bakery in 2020, but Peoria's love affair with the place grew, so in 2023 the place expanded to a full-service fine dining establishment.
You'll still find plenty of pastries and other baked goods but you'll also find dishes like, wood-grilled swordfish, corned beef tongue, and a kimchi fried chicken sandwich, according to Cassidy Waigand, Peoria Journal Star.
I read that the dishes are prepared over the flames of a live-fire hearth. Fire is even represented in the name of the place. "Ardor", according to that same story from Peoria Journal Star, is a word that relates to passion or enthusiasm. You can easily see in these photos that a 'fire' is definitely burning in the hearts of those who work there.
