Breathtaking Illinois Eatery Crowned One of America’s Best Outdoor Dining Restaurants
If you love to sit outside when you eat, you'll love this restaurant.
That's because the well-respected Gayot shared a list of the ten best outdoor dining places and included this gem of an eatery.
I'm sure you're aware but, there are plenty of great places to eat along the scenic Chicago River but, none beat River Roast.
Called the 9th best outdoor dining restaurant per Gayot, they said, "Outdoor riverside seating allows guests to savor summer days and river views at Chicago's River Roast. The entree list is simple but sufficient, with whole roasted chicken, fish, and roast beef carved tableside."

River Roast is kid-friendly but provides a full bar, private rooms, a romantic setting, and valet parking.
It's also the only Midwest restaurant on that entire list from Gayot. The rest are in Hawaii, Louisiana, New York, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Massachusetts, and Arizona.
Based on that alone, you should know you're in for something spectacular at River Roast.

Of the over 1200 reviews on popular review website, Yelp, River Roast is rated a stellar 4 out of 5.
River Roast's biggest fans hype up the overall look calling it "beautiful" with "breathtaking views of the Chicago River."

Meanwhile, the restaurant's biggest detractors referred to the food as "lackluster" and the service not much better.
In particular, a two-star review of River Roast said despite the ambiance, and great view, "that is no excuse to treat guests poorly."
