Montgomery, MN Resident Wins the Powerball

The person who bought the winning ticket purchased the Power Play option for an extra $1. Turns out, that might be the best $1 they've ever spent.

They matched all five of them numbers in Wednesday's drawing, which would mean they win the $1 million that the Powerball was at. But with the Power Play, it doubled the winnings, making this person $2 million in a matter of seconds.

Where Was the Winning Powerball Ticket Purchased?

KARE 11 reports that the winning ticket was purchased at OAM Food and Fuel in Montgomery. Because they were the ones who sold the ticket, they'll get $5,000.

As of writing this, the Powerball has only announced that a winning ticket was sold, not that someone had claimed it. Hopefully whoever bought the ticket knows exactly where they put it!

Can You Stay Anonymous if You Win the Lottery in Minnesota?

Congratulations to whoever won that $2 million! We may never truly know who won, either. The Minnesota Lottery says that in Minnesota, if your prize winnings are over $10,000 you can remain anonymous if you want to. I would! I don't need people coming out of the woodwork just because I won a lot of money. No thanks. I'll be saving a little bit of it and then going on a big ole vacation.
