In 2021, I wrote an article about Minnesota's favorite fast food chain. At that time, Taco Bell was the top choice in the state, but times and tastes have changed, and there's a new favorite chain here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
Fast food has become a regular part of many Americans’ diets, with a significant amount of the country eating it several times per week, according to YouGov. McDonald's is the most profitable chain in the country, but Minnesotans aren't searching for Big Macs.

Minnesota’s Most Popular Fast-Food Chain in 2026 May Surprise You
The team at FinanceBuzz.com analyzed Google Trends data in each state and assigned scores to fast food chains based on search volume. Unsurprisingly, In-N-Out ranked #1 in California and Whataburger took the top spot in Texas. But here in Minnesota, we’re not Googling burger joints. We’re searching for “Freaky Fast” delivery.
According to the data, Jimmy John’s is the most popular fast food chain in the state based on number of searches. There are more than 90 Jimmy John's locations statewide. That's impressive, but still nowhere near its biggest competitor in the fast food industry. Check out which sandwich chain rules the state below.
