According to the Rochester Downtown Alliance, roughly 3.6 million people stroll through our downtown area every year. A lot of that traffic is driven by Mayo Clinic’s patients and thousands of employees, but there are a ton of other local businesses and major events that draw people to the downtown area.

We're fortunate to have a great selection of restaurants downtown and most locals have their favorites - I’m a huge fan of The Tap House, City Market, and Chester’s Kitchen & Bar, but there is one specific spot with several options that many forget about because it's kind of hidden

I’ve lived in Rochester for a long time, but I almost never use the skyway, so it took me a long time to discover the First Avenue Food Court. If you’re looking for a quick, delicious lunch it’s a total game-changer.

From what I understand, the food court opened in 1980s, evolving through the decades with restaurants coming and going. The current lineup features a variety of global cuisines. I stopped by earlier today to snap some photos and check out the latest menus before the lunch rush kicked off.
