A little over two years ago, I wrote about a new speakeasy-style cocktail bar opened in downtown Rochester, MN inside Bebap. It's called 1928 Cocktails and Bites. The place has a super cool vibe, past the host desk in Bebap and up the stairs. But they just made a big announcement.

1928 Cocktails announced that they will be closing temporarily at the end of March to undergo some changes.

So if you've never been to 1928 Cocktails, you'll want to get over there in the next couple of weeks, because it sounds like the space is going to get totally changed.

1928 Cocktails in Rochester, MN Closing Temporarily

The announcement that they were closing temporarily came on social media on March 13th.

They wrote that during the closure they will "transform this special space into something new." They reflected on the fun times that have been had in the space so far, but said "sometimes a space is ready for its next chapter."

Then, their most recent post about the change came on March 18th, where they mentioned that they've been working behind the scenes on what this next chapter is going to look like.

Not just another bar.
Not just another menu.

They also teased us with this: Bold flavors, Beautiful drinks, Late night energy

That's how they're describing their new endeavor.

I'm so curious to learn more about what the heck is going on. Is it still going to be called 1928? Late night energy makes me think they'll be open much later than other bars downtown, but I don't know that for sure. What's the food menu and drink menu going to look like?

So many questions! And not many answers. Yet.
