It is official.  Registration for the Twin Cities Marathon is now live and thousands are expected to sign up for the popular 26.2 mile and 10-mile events in 2026.  Based on the history of this event, these open spots to claim a bid won't last long.

"Going for a run" is one of the top 3 most popular fitness activities in the United States.  Personally, it has been a few years since I've worn a race bib, but crossing the finish line after a 5k post-PT for SI joint issues reminded me how motivating setting a goal can be - even if it isn't a full marathon.

How Many Spots Are Available This Year At The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon?

2026 could be a milestone year for the Twin Cities, as the marathon positions itself for possibily receiving the esteemed designation as one of the top 10 U.S. marathons.  According to Hoodline, close to 11,000 runners and wheelers are expected to register for the popular Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and 10-mile event this year.  This number is a bit higher than recent attendance numbers due to roughly 1,500 additional registration slots being added.
