What Month Do Mosquitoes Typically Appear in Minnesota

The rule of thumb for the arrival of mosquitoes is this - when we have a week when the temperature stays above 50 at night, pull out the bug spray.  That is go time for mosquitoes.

Typically this happens about mid-April but according to mmcd.org, when temperatures get to about 39 degrees Fahrenheit, the mosquito eggs that have been resting all winter, will hatch.  Soon after that, we will see the onslaught of mosquitoes, and the swatting will commence.
