More Retail Changes Hit Apache Mall in Rochester As Another Store Set To Close This Friday

It’s a familiar story in retail right now — rising costs and changing shopping habits are leading to more empty storefronts.  This week, that trend is continuing as another small shop inside the Apache Mall in Rochester closes.  Based on my conversation with the employees, it sounds like this specific store in the Med City will be closing on Friday.

Store Closing Signs Now Up At Another Store in the Apache Mall in Rochester

I took a quick stroll around the Apache Mall yesterday to get some steps in and was hoping to see some work happening on the new Sky Zone that is anticipated for the old Herberger's location.  The wall is still up at the old mall entrance for that large space by Rogers and Hollands, so it doesn't appear that we will see a grand opening yet.  However, I did notice a few other unfortunate changes.

As reported yesterday on Y-105FM, the Love From Minnesota store that was located in this same area by Caribou and Rogers and Hollands has sadly closed.  Based on the feedback I received, it sounds as if this storefront shuttered at the end of January.

The large Francesca's chain recently filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the Rochester location now has store closing signs up.  Some discounts have already started and you can find this storefront on the way to Macy's.

While I was heading back to my car, though, I noticed another store with "store closing" signs - Just Cozy.

Just Cozy Closing This Week at the Apache Mall in Rochester, MN

Just Cozy is near the Caribou in the center of the mall and has a bunch of cozy items for sale - leggings, shirts, blankets, scarves, hats.  According to the employees at the store yesterday, this store is closing on Friday, February 13th, 2026.

If you are looking for some great deals, there were still quite a few items in the store when I stopped in on Tuesday.  If you miss out on these deals but still want to grab a few cozy items, according to their website, they have over 100 stores throughout the United States.  You can find additional locations and also shop their store online at justcozyusa.com.
