Aldi Store in Burnsville, Minnesota Is Closing For Good

Throughout the Land of 10,000 Lakes, there are about 1,300 grocery stores.  While that number may seem high, it helps to have a convenient spot "on our way home" since Americans make an average of 2.8 shopping trips for groceries every week.  Unfortunately, one of those grocery store spots is closing soon in Minnesota.

Burnsville currently has two Aldi locations serving the community - one 1451 Riverwood Drive and another at 1294 County Rd 42 W.  According to the story by Bring Me The News, a note on the front doors of the Riverwood Drive location stated that its final day is Sunday, June 28th, 2026, along with the following: "Thank you for your years of loyalty and support. We will continue to proudly serve the community, and we hope to see you again at one of our nearby locations."

What Grocery Store Chain Has The Most Locations In Minnesota?

Business Wire data shows that the average American that shops for groceries visits more than 5 grocery stores each month.  The reasons for the switch-up is because we all seem to have our favorite picks on what stores have the freshest produce, deals that we are on the hunt for, and sometimes, we just need to grab something really quick at a place nearby.

While Cub and Hy-Vee seem to have a large presence in Minnesota, those two grocery chains aren't the largest in the state.  According to ScrapeHero, Hy-Vee has 40 stores, Cub Foods has 77, and Aldi has a total of 83 stores right now, making it the largest grocery store chain in Minnesota.
