Saginaw, MN (MinnesotaNow)- One man was killed in an accident involving a snow groomer in northern Minnesota

A new release issued by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the deadly incident shortly before 3:15 Thursday afternoon. 

The initial report indicated a man had become trapped under a tracked snow groomer in a driveway.

Man Dies After Becoming Trapped Under Snow Groomer at Northern Minnesota Property

The call came from a property in the 6800 block of Carlson Road in Grand Lake Township, which is about 17 miles northwest of Duluth. 

Responding medical personal pronounced the trapped person dead at the scene. He is being described as a 67-year-old man.

Authorities say the victim was using the tracked snow groomer, which is being described as an older piece of equipment, to plow the driveway of a private property.

The groomer is privately owned and the deadly incident did not occur on a snowmobile trail, according to the news release. 

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the deadly incident. Foul play is not suspected, the news release says.
