Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester area continued to lead the state in job growth last month.

The latest job market report issued by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development indicates Rochester saw a net gain of more than 6,100 jobs between June 2024 and last month. That works out to an annualized job growth rate of 4.7%.

The state agency reported the Twin Cities area added just over 22,000 jobs during the previous 12 months for a job growth rate of 1.1%. Mankato's job growth rate was 2.5% with a gain of about 1,400 jobs, while Duluth and St. Cloud had job growth rates under 1%.

Statewide, Minnesota experienced a net loss of 800 jobs between May and June. During the past 12 months, the state added about 48,500 jobs for a job growth rate of 1.6%. The national job growth rate for the same period was 1.1%.

Minnesota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was steady at 3.3% last month, which remained below the national jobless rate of 4.1%. The state's labor force participation rate was also steady at 68.2%.
